I really do not know how to start this blog post, but I am choosing to type (speak) from the heart.
How did I get here...? I could only imagine what my younger self is feeling about who and what I have become thus far. I am inspired to have a conversation with her....that little girl with high hopes and dreams. When did I stop daydreaming?
Sometimes in life we just have to step back and put things in God's focus. You cannot figure out life on your own and neither can you live this life with peace, love, power, joy, happiness, and sound mind without God. As I pour out, I pray that you gain a new perspective and this helps you in your life as well. I love you all.
Let's just be honest....
I commend you for your ability to never give up. However, I do not like what I see. You cry and worry way too much over things that God has given you the power to speak over. This fight is not yours. Hand it over....to GOD!
I commend you for your ability to figure everyone else out and hold their deepest treasures. However, when are you going to look at me in the mirror? Stop being insecure. You are enough. You are rare for all the right reasons. God made you beautiful. You are fearfully and wonderfully made.
I commend you for surviving thus far, but it is time to live. Yes a lot is at stake but the crown of life is worth so much more. You are a ruby...more than diamonds and pearls.
I admire your giving heart and spirit. However, when will you put your gifts to good use? This little girl is cheering and waiting on you. God needs you to push through.
God has given you a voice not just to sing but to speak for those that walk/tip toe in silence. For those women who know there is something missing but cannot seem to put it into words. You are a wife and a mother. Your wait is the time to serve. These gifts are not your own.
You can have a life of FreeDom if you start to believe like you used to. See, this is nothing new for you. People see your light but you continue to allow it to dim. The enemy has been on your trail this whole time. BUT for once and for all, it is time to STAND UP & OUT!!!
Sing like never before, Teach like never before. Speak like never before. Write it like never before.
This is our time...I am just here to remind you, QUEEN.
I will make you proud little girl :) My words are coming into action and I aint got no worries. I am a QUEEN. I have a Father in heaven that loves me more than any man can. He is waiting on me. Blessings will pour and this moment will be marked down in my story as the day of breakthrough and overcome. The day that changed everything. The start of my new book and my new day. I declare I am awake and willing to run with God until eternity :)
Hope you, yes you ;), reading this feels the same way and speak these similar declarations over your life. God wants to bless you...what are you willing to sacrifice? What is your inner little boy or little girl hope for you? Are you making them proud today?
Peace to you and love always - Dominique

Happy Fathers' Day!!!
Thank you God for making this Fathers' Day a great one. It was so peaceful. This year marked 2 years since my dad passed and being able to have this day of peace and reflection of his life and all he was to me as a father on earth...all I can say is thank you God!! God, You allowed me to have a dad in my life. I cherish all the wisdom, fun memories, and his unforgettable presence and spirit.
I hope everyone enjoyed this day with their fathers. If not, I hope you made this day a great one. It is blessing to be alive. Do not take it for granted...not one second. It is so much better to smile and rejoice in the day God has made. :)

Let's Talk: Overthinking
Happy Sunday! I hope all is well with you. I will start posting every Sunday on different topics. So to start, let's talk about overthinking :)
My problem has always been overthinking. I know I am not the only one. I often wonder how God could use me if I continue to overthink. (Read: Ecclesiastes 11:4)
I can be such an overthinker that it hinders my ability to just live in the moment. One of my missions is to remove the bondage of thinking and fulfill it with life's adventures just as I have pictured so many times in my head.
I have pictured a life of travel, trying new things, blogging consistently, singing and connecting with new, like minded people. To some, these things come easy but for me it requires a change of mind state and the removal of overthinking. I refuse to overthink myself out of living in the moment anymore. My fear of risks and disappointing others has somehow stunted my growth. I call it being stuck.
Being stuck is just a state of mind. It is the ultimate trick of the enemy. God is waiting to make all your visions come to life but it is your choice to believe and have faith. Believing and having faith requires that you put full trust in God from the way you style your hair to saying yes/no to a job offer. I often wonder what life would be if I truly allowed God to have His way in my life. To be real, I need to stop being disobedient to God and move. What a joyous day that will be! I am learning not to search for happiness but God's joy. Question is: Do you want to get well? (Read: James 5:1-14)
I do not know about you but overthinking is exhausting. It is like running 100 miles in your mind and never getting anywhere. Before you know it, another day, week, month, and year has passed, and there is nothing to show for it. God wants us to cast all our cares on Him and He will give us rest because He cares for us. What a joy and relief! (Read: 1 Peter 5:7; Psalm 55:22). My overthinking spurs from worry and doubt. It is a constant wonder about what the future holds but I am learning that there is nothing better in life than God's joy and peace. I am learning to laugh and lean on God for all wisdom and understanding. I am free to live with no more bondage. (Read Proverbs 3:5-6; Proverbs 31:25).
God's joy brings peace inside of a storm. It can make you happy for others when your world is falling apart. It gives you strength to pray for your enemies.
When my dad passed about 2 years ago, many people wondered (and still wonder) why I had not completely broken a part. Sometimes, admittedly I shock myself. My dad was a protector, provider, and one of my greatest advisors/counselors. If anything happened in my life, I knew I had my dad to bounce ideas off of or just simply help me make the right decisions for my life. He passed unexpectedly But what kept me was God. If it was not for my relationship with God, I do not know where I would be right now. God's peace surpasses all understanding. (Read: Philippians 4:7)
This experience of death and grief completely changed my whole world. All at once, my covering was gone. As an already overthinker, I never saw this coming. It opened my eyes to change my mindset on life and sitting around thinking became something I knew I had to change. Yes, I struggle just like every other person with my own insecurities and inside/outside confusions But God.
There are lives waiting for me to overcome this hurdle of overthinking and being stuck. The best advice I could give to anyone dealing with this same issue is: 1. Take it one day at a time, 2. Reach out for help (we all need accountability and the right mentorship), 3. Take up a hobby, i.e. blogging, singing, dancing, exercising, or whatever tickles your fancy lol. It is all about getting active. There is so much work to do. (Read: Romans 6:13)
The time spent on overthinking has probably cost me opportunities and even worse God's blessings but I am vowing going forward to God and to anyone reading this to get discipline and serious about the things God has told me to do. We all have something to give to this world. Don't go to your grave full.
Reminder: God can use anything and anyone for His glory. Never feel like God cannot use you or the time you feel you have wasted.

Ready.
the vision haunts me
like a nightmare seen both in the day and night
fear is so overwhelming but the dream feels so right
only i am left to configure
if only it came as fast as a trigger
i have no words but the thoughts that linger
hitting me like a snap of a finger
tick, tock, tick, tock
it just wont stop
and i am just like time
passing...
like cars on the freeway
when will it be the day
destination so unclear but yet so near
and im just
Ready.

Soon it will be over...long time coming :)
I know it has been a little while. These days have been filled with wonder, confusion, and deep thought. I am happy though to say I am becoming more at peace and content with life's situations and problems. I am starting now to not sweat the small stuff and am realizing everything truly happens for a reason.
My mind has been focused on finding my purpose, true joy, and what makes me happy. What makes me happy is helping others, singing for God, and staying close to the ones who truly love and care for me. Nothing else matters...really.
Cliches aren't just simple cliches that are sparked from thin air. They are relative to every day life and will make sense in due time.
As I move forward, my prayer is that I never lose this feeling and moment. I pray I can share my whole story one day and feel no remorse or shame.
I am a work in progress but steady moving forward. I pray you are doing the same.
*Side note: I will be done with that work situation 3/31/12. I will update you guys on that and everything it has taught me.
Well love you all :) xoxo

be patient.
this first week of the new year has really shown me that through patience you can allow your life to fall in its rightful place. we pray and hope that God listens but we forget the fact that He is there all the time. this week started off on 1/1/12 with my girls. we connected for one of my friends b-day and it really and truly made me feel grateful and appreciative for the few friends i do have. it is just amazing to see how far we all have come (all college graduates...whoop whoop!!!). i am so proud of each and every one of them and i know God has so many things in store for them. somehow i could feel the genuineness (if thats a word lol) and the unspoken bond. God i thank U right now!!! later on in this week i started back at work with a new attitude and an open mind. with that said, by letting go of figuring out what was next for me and giving it completely to God, it has definitely been a weight off my shoulders. i know this sounds like a ramble but if you've made it this far, there is a moral...just wait for it lol. on Wednesday, i was able to link up with a lady i have been looking up to since my permanent start with the job i am at now and finally i asked her to be my mentor. she accepted and Lord knows it can only get better for me. hopefully i will be able to decide if where i am now is where i will ultimately be. same day, i was granted an opportunity to give support on a major project that im sure if everything goes well, it will attest to my capability and could help me further my career (i can do ALL things through Christ that strengthens me!!!). the opportunity started the next day, Thursday. if you know me well, i am very anxious, indifferent, and excited all at once when something like this happens to me. Wednesday night my stomach was in knots. i even contemplated about giving a reason why i shouldnt take the opportunity. dare i say i was fearful and all the "i can do all things through Christ that strengthens me" was out the window. but God willing i was successful on Thursday and cannot wait to continue and learn as much as possible from the experience.
the moral of the story is let it go and give it to God completely, not partially, not 50%, not 99.9%, but COMPLETELY. let Him fulfill your dreams. He will not allow you stay in one place forever but you gotta be patient! i know bad days come and Lord knows i have had my few but through it all, God was there all the time. so my mindset now and going forward is through every test, struggle, or situation, God has complete control even though you may feel you have some control. He knows all. one day you could be living under a bridge and the next you are the president of the U.S.A. (i know thats a stretch...but thats just the God i believe i serve). put all your trust in Him and watch Him work.

Today's message...Galatians 1:3-4
Grace and peace to you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ, who gave himself for our sins to rescue us from the present evil age...
— Galatians 1:3-4 (NIV)
This life is so life. Sometimes I have to stop myself from thinking too hard on things.
God has already paid the price for us.
There is no need to worry because He has us in His hands.
God is so awesome and incredible!
It is not meant for me to know all but for me to know who knows all.
Dont let this life or worldly possessions distract you from the truth and whats important.
Father, thank You for allowing Your son to come down for us.
It is good to know that You care that much and knew the life we would have to live.
Thank You for the rescue!!

let it bless you...1 Peter 5:6-11
1 Peter 5:6-11 New International Version (NIV)
6 Humble yourselves, therefore, under God’s mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time. 7 Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you. 8 Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. 9 Resist him, standing firm in the faith, because you know that the family of believers throughout the world is undergoing the same kind of sufferings. 10 And the God of all grace, who called you to his eternal glory in Christ, after you have suffered a little while, will himself restore you and make you strong, firm and steadfast. 11 To him be the power for ever and ever. Amen.

Today's message...Jude 1:24
Jude 1:24 To him who is able to keep you from stumbling and to present you before his glorious presence without fault and with great joy—
To him who is able - He is Able!!!!! to do ALL!
to keep you - preserve/protect
from stumbling - falling, giving in to temptation/sin
and to present you before his glorious presence - if you want God to use you, you must be kept/protected/preserved so that he may use you
without fault and with great joy - Let's be a joy before His eyes:)
Are you preserved for His purpose?

Today's message...Psalms 46:1
Today's message was on Psalms 46:1 - God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.
God is - He is everything you can think of
Our - not "a" or "my" but OUR!
Refuge and strength - not only is He a place of safety but He is strong...I can think of alot of things that I run to for safety, i.e. parents, friends, music, food, etc. but there is only 1 that gives you the strength to conquer all
A very present - He is right now, forever, always present even before the trouble comes, He is there...He knows, can, and do all things
Help in trouble - God is a good help not just a help..unlike us He is reliable, on time, and is always there for us

you have to meditate
i am learning how to really really really get myself together...you cant count on ppl all the time to make you happy or encourage you...you have to encourage yourself...you have to meditate...talking to God and really letting Him handle all your day to day decisions is such a load off...He always has the answer for you but you have to read His word and simply pray...we are living in a busy world but never lose sight of your creator, redeemer, Savior...He knows wwwwaaayyyy better than you...He just wants your time:)
